# Gear Randomization and Options

## Gear Base Randomization System

In V-Sky, gear above level 105 with **Rare+** quality rolls randomized base values.
This creates many possible combinations per item compared to original fixed values.

To view the maximum roll range while inspecting an item, hold **Left Shift**.

## Gear Options (⭐)

Gear can also roll random option stats, shown as **stars (⭐)**.

- Option stats are granted randomly from special enemy drops or special zones.
- Each gear piece can have up to **4 stars**.
- The same option stat can appear only once per piece.

### Possible Option Stats

- Damage
- Defense
- Health
- Mana
- Elemental Attack
- Elemental Defense
- Hit Rate
- Dodge
- Strength
- Dexterity
- Vitality
- Chi
- Luck

## Compare and Inspect Controls

- **Left Shift** while inspecting: shows max roll range.
- **Left Control** while inspecting: compares stats versus currently equipped gear.

## Drop Locations

- Randomized base gear: **Everywhere**
- Gear with options can drop in **Golden Temple** (accessible through Guard Captain)
- Gear with options can also come from **PvP Rare gear drops**

These two systems together reward build variety and make gear drops more meaningful.

## Re-rolling and Adding Options

A drop is only the starting point. The [Chaos Item System](/wiki/pages/guides-chaos-item-system)
lets you re-roll an item's base values, re-roll the option stars it already has, add a new
star, and break unwanted starred gear down into the currency that pays for all of it.
